Enter Little A.

I was sitting at work on Wednesday and was actually talking adoption talk with a coworker when the phone rang.  I could tell by two rings instead of one that it was not a local call and I jokingly said to the co-worker, "this may be the call we've been waiting for."  Well it was! It was a very nice lady  from the main office.  Nothing can really prepare a person for a unique moment such as this.  Imagining it doesn't do it justice.  I had on my work hat so I didn't have transition time to switch gears.  I was completely caught off guard.  Needless to say, my coworkers have witnessed me crying and smiling all week long.  I am a bit emotional.

Enter Little A.  She is the prettiest little girl I have ever seen in my life.  I'm quite altered.  Although I cannot share photos at this time, I will tell you she has the most beautiful brown eyes, a very shy smile and she is very tiny.  Weighing in at 32 lbs and just a bit over three feet tall, she is five years old. I'm putting together a little photo album and a few other items to send to her with a friend who will be over there on the 23rd.  I do not have a court date scheduled yet as the courts are closed for the rainy season.  They won't open up until October, most likely, so I cannot expect a court date until November at the earliest, I'm thinking.  This gives me plenty of time to get the house ready.  To have her home by Christmas would be wishful thinking, but we are going to have a late Christmas.  Who wants to volunteer to keep their tree up until we get home?  :)

Congratulations on your call.

I met my child on 20th October last year, and brought her home on 15th March.

We kept our Xmas tree up until the 2nd April (had to take it down then, as it was my other daughter's birthday party that day!!).

Best of Luck.
