I cannot believe I haven't posted since January. Not sure why and I apologize for not getting back with those of you who have inquired. I have been sidetracked with work and exercise lately. I had a few extra pounds I needed to be rid so that is the focus. One motivation has always been that I will be able to lift my child without groaning.... I'll be going from zero to "X" pounds of weight on my hip where others get that gradual shift from 7 or 8 lbs. over a few years. Yes, I think about some pretty silly little details but you should see my biceps! Mission accomplished. Welcome to the gunshow... hehe. My other motivation is because I have a high school class reunion coming up next month that I wouldn't mind looking smoking hot for. :) Use whatever inspiration is out there, right? Hello farm boys! 20 years and the big city sure has been kind to Andrea. I've lost 12 lbs. but gained a few back because I needed Chinese food Friday... and Saturday. Oops. I'm undoing the damage now and I'm moving forward. Onward and downward. That chinese food was soooo worth it though. Steamed dumplings.... yum.
I did take a little N.Y. trip over Easter to see my brothers, sister-in-law, our family friend Roxanne and my 4 month old nephew Coy (now he's almost 5 months) and I tell you what, he is one adorable little guy... were there other people in the room? I don't remember... I just remember that beautiful little face. :) I wonder if I'd just booked him a one way ticket back if they'd let me take him with me next time? I'm not joking. Hehe. I will be seeing them all again in July for a family reunion in Missouri so I'm really enjoying seeing family every few months. I could get very used to that! Living out in California for so long and working a job with really crazy hours, I now realize how family deprived I've been. I hope to change that in the next few years.
And on the baby/toddler front.... no news. My agency has a Yahoo! group and I check it regularly. It is an excellent way to communicate with staff as well as all other families who are waiting, traveling , and in post-gotcha mode. I have officially been in the "waiting" category now for 4 months and there are referrals every week or two, families are traveling every few weeks, so they are trickling in and out, which is great news for me, but I still haven't gotten my referral. I was told I would hear about a referral for a toddler girl within 3 to 6 months. Ethiopia has their rainy season in late June or early July, I believe, and due to the flooding the courts will be closed. If I don't hear something in the next two months, I probably won't hear until September. For now, I will just enjoy the spring (or is it summer already... it was in the 90's today here in good ole Texas), walk my dog around the park, exercise, take up golf (waiting for golf clubs I ordered) and think about my future trips!

Great to hear your updates.
Congrats on the weight loss. Unfortunately the winter has not been so kind to me on that front--of course, I havn't been putting in the work that you have.
I really hope you hear something before the rainy season but if you don't, then I hope you have a good summer and get ready for what Sept will bring!! Wow--you will be in such great shape then.
Andrea, I think we've talked but I didn't know you had a blog. So happy to see you have started the process over! I was with CHI also. Lookingforsam.blogspot.com. Hope you have good news soon!
